Where does Nautica come from?
Nautica is an American brand for lifestyle clothing and accessories such as watches and perfumes, founded in 1983. The company was called State-O-Maine until 1994 when the name was finally changed to Nautica. This name also has a meaning - it comes from the Greek word ναυτικός , meaning “seamanship” in Italian. This already indicates the origin of the brand - in the beginning the clothing was produced for the sailing clothing market.
